Mobile telephone network company MTN has confirmed the death of one of its workers. The individual the enterprise says “passed away at the Douala General Hospital on 30th March following a short illness.”
Noting that the exact cause of death is yet to be determined, MTN says “COVID-19 tests were conducted but not concluded at the time of death.”
Noting that the wellbeing of its employees and customers is of top priority, MTN adds that most of its “employees have been working from home over the last few weeks as a precautionary measure.” They insist that the deceased was hastily buried for precautionary measures and didn’t contaminate neither his colleagues nor their clients.
The multinational corporation ends its release expressing condolences to the family and loved ones of the worker.
Rumours circulating yesterday had it that the worker had passed away as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
