The governor of Littoral region has sent warning signals to inhabitants of the region asking the. to respect COVID-19 prevention measures.

In a visit to three schools at Douala 5 Monday November 9th 2020, administrative officials noticed that eleven students had been confirmed COVID-19 positive.

At Nal bilingual college in Bangue, school officials stated that there are seven positive cases. They complained to administrative officials that parents of the kids concerned have not been collaborative in the process.

At College Du Vaal , 168 students had a high temperature with four tested positive.

Meantime at College St Charles Barrommee , suspected students were ordered to go for COVID-19 tests.

Governor Samuel Dieudonne Ivaha Diboa says the infection rate of COVID 19 in the Littoral region has risen from 2% to 5%.

Schools resumed in Cameroon on the 5th of October with government’s instructions of obligatory wearing of face masks and washing of hands with soap for all students and teachers.

Respecting COVID-19 measures in Douala in particular and Littoral region however seems to be a thing of the past.

People move around without face masks, physical distancing is not respected and buckets and soap for washing of hands have disappeared in public places.

Earlier on, the minister of public health Dr. Manaouda Malachie called for strict respect of COVID measures while stating that the number of infected persons were on the rise in Cameroon.
