Angry locals have destroyed the car of the Lamido of Maroua.
Reports say a car in the Lamido’s convoy accompanied by other traditional rulers in the Far North hit a child who died on the spot.
The population, reports add, got enraged when the driver of the said car stepped out of the vehicle while making a phone call.
His act is said to have spurred locals to vandalize the vehicle, damaging the windshield.
The Lamido, who was accompanied by other traditional rulers in the region, is believed to have been on the campaign trail ahead of the December 6 election when the incident happened.
