Inhabitants of Makepe Misoke 1 at Douala 5 subdivision say constant floods are rendering their lives miserable.
On why floods and standing water have been permanent in the area, they point accusing fingers at authorities for neglecting the project for the construction of good drainage systems.
Besides that, they decry poor road network and constant blackout that encourages banditry.
Inhabitants equally frown at the fact that most public schools in the area are in a dilapidating state.
To ameliorate living conditions in the area, a water tank has been inaugurated to solve the problem of prolonged water shortage in the area.
Roger Mbasa Ndine, Mayor of Douala City council says the project worth twenty-six million eight hundred and seventy-five thousand two hundred and fifty francs will benefit three hundred and fifty households in Makepe Misoke 1.
The water project has been jointly sponsored by Douala City Council and Bordeux-France and was executed within a period of thirty months.
