Government Primary School Mbidou has seen no major development in the past decades. Pupils sit on stick-made-stools to receive lessons and teachers without teaching materials.
Two and more classes are merged into a single lecture hall to accommodate the children – whom reports say are exposed to illnesses because of the poor hygiene on campus.
A group of philanthropists has donated 30 benches to the school – but it doesn’t meet the needs of all the students.
“We could not remain indifferent after seeing the condition of the kids, we had to do something,” said Lamissia Adolarc, one of the donors from.
Several school-going-kids in Adamawa, North, Far North Regions, and other parts of Cameroon face similar challenges.
