“The first national vice chairman, Hon. Joshua Osih remains a militant of the Social Democratic Front, SDF,” said Kejang Henry Atembe in a telephone interview with Mimi Mefo Info Monday, March 22nd, 2021.

To the third national communication secretary of the SDF, “…the decision of the SDF Littoral regional bureau establishing that Hon. Joshua Osih has auto exclude himself from the party is unbinding because article 8.2 is applied from above and so taking the decision at the regional level has no strength at all”.

To the member of the National Executive Committee, Hon. Joshua Osih is still a full militant at the regional level.

“Whatever decision that is taken at the regional level needs to be endorsed by the National Executive Committee-NEC,” he furthered.

In an extraordinary executive meeting of Social Democratic Front, SDF Littoral Region Sunday, March 21st, 2021 convened by the regional president Hon. Jean Michel Nintcheu, the executive in one of its final decisions established that by signing a petition against US Congress on the security situation in Cameroon, Hon Joshua Osih otherwise 1st national vice chairman of the SDF auto excluded himself from the party in accordance with article 8.2 of the party.

“The regional bureau can forward cases of indiscipline to the national executive committee for examination but the person accused has no case of indiscipline at the Littoral regional level. Where did he go wrong? What is his offense? Is he not paying his dues or other obligations at the regional level?” Kejang Henry questioned.

There is a war of words between Hon. Jean Michel Nintcheu and Hon. Joshua Osih since the national executive committee of the SDF took a resolution to condemn Hon. Joshua Osih for signing a petition against US congress.

To the national communication secretary, there is no war of words. “…It is one person that is ranting and the other person is quiet”.

With the tussle in the Social Democratic Front in the spotlight following the signing of the petition, Kejang Henry says it instead shows the strength of the party.

“Tensions within political parties are everywhere. Though some may say it drags the name of the party into the mud, it also to an extent portrays the strength of the party. When you are in the game of politics, you should be a shock absorber,” said Kejang.

To some political commentators, there has been a tussle between the two members of parliament since Chairman Ni John Fru Ndi announced he will not stand again for the post of SDF National Chairman during the next national elective convention.
