Simon Nkwenti Doh, Senior Divisional Officer for Donga Mantung has ordered an investigation into what caused the death of a woman yesterday in Nkambe. The body of the woman called Veronica was discovered beside a stream by locals. Security sources suspect the woman was killed and abandoned.
The Canadian High Commissioner to Cameroon, Richard Bale has visited the National School of Local Administration (NASLA) in Buea. Visiting different sites of the school, Mr. Bale said the school will play a leading role in the process of decentralization and taking administration closer to the people.
53 new lawyers have been sworn into the Bar Association in Cameroon. This was at the Buea Appeal Court today. Twelve ex-Boko Haram fighters alongside their wives and children have surrendered to the disarmament demobilization and reintegration DDR centre in Mora in Cameroon’s Far North region. According to state media, their surrender was facilitated by soldiers of the Multinational Joint Taskforce fighting against Boko Haram.
The City Mayor of Bamenda has acknowledged the government’s inability to provide electricity to Cameroonians in Bamenda as a whole and especially the sick at the Bamenda Regional Hospital. Mayor Achobang Paul in a move to alleviate the suffering of patients offered a new generator to the hospital, a gesture saluted by the director of the hospital, Dr. Denise Nsame.
