The surrendered fighters include some 32 child fighters, 11 women and 12 men.

According to the Head of the DDR centre for Meri, Oumar Bichair, the Demobilization of these former fighters is as a result of a series of civil military action and operation on the ground, most especially by the Multinational Joint Force Task combatting Boko Haram terrorism.
This comes after a series of attacks by the sect on Cameroonian territory over the past weeks.
