The annual Holiday Job for students organised by the Bamenda III council has started in the municipality.

Over 100 students within the Bamenda III municipality are taking part in this year’s exercise that is aimed at promoting youth empowerment and instilling in the youth Civic responsibility.

Speaking during the launching ceremony at the Bamenda III council premises, the Mayor, Fonguh Cletus encouraged the youths to remain focused and do away with malpractices that cannot foster their educational and moral growth.

The over 100 youths will be involved and engaged in cleaning the council premises, the palaces of Nkwen and Ndzah, the health centres and some streets around the municipality.

On their part, the students appreciated the mayor and the council and promised to be committed in the discharge of tasks assigned to them.

The 2021 holiday job for students will run till early September 2021. At the end, the students will be compensated financially so that they can prepare for school.

The Bamenda III council is one of the councils making strides to develop it’s municipality. The council has a giant water project that has benefited close to 80% of the population.

Since the start of the anglophone crisis, Nkwen, headquarter of the municipality remains one of the safest in Bamenda.
