A delegation led by North West Governor Adolphe Lele Lafrique has condoled with ex – separatist fighters at the Disarmament, Demobilization, and Reintegration Center in Bamenda. During the visit to the center on Saturday, October 2, 2021, Governor Adolphe Lele Afrique disclosed that he has ordered investigations to be carried out to ascertain the cause of the killing.

The delegation did not go empty-handed as bags of rice, buckets, an envelope of four hundred thousand francs among others accompanied them.

This comes days after two of the inmates, Tabeh Ekwebu and Wameley Sanda Justice all from Ako Sub Division, Donga Mantung Division of the North West Region of Cameroon were gunned down around the Ntambang Integrated Health center on September 26, 2021.

Talking to the ex-fighters, Gov. Lele Afrique said, they are all mourning.

“We came here today to tell you that we are all mourning the death of those two ex-fighters who died under conditions that are still being investigated.”

The Governor explained that the two fighters went to the hospital and no one knows what happened thereafter.

On his part, the chief of the DDRC Kum Henry said, they were yet to come to terms with the death of the two boys and that, the
the incident has brought immense sadness to the DDR family.

While announcing the imminent recruitment of five ex separatist fighters, the Mayor of Bamenda II, Peter Chenwi promised to take care of the nine ex-combatants who will be sitting in for the 2022 session of the Government Certificate Examinations, GCE.

One of the ex-combatants who spoke on behalf of his mates expressed the wish to see those behind the killing of their friends to be brought to book.
