Cameroon’s Prime Minister Dr Joseph Dion Ngute got ‘a taste of his own medicine’ today. His speech in Matazem, North West Region was interupted by gunshots, leaving him and members of convoy scampering for safety. The Prime Minister during his visit once more urged residents of Bamenda and the entire North West Region to embrace government’s “message of peace.” Brandishing resolutions of the 2019 Major National Dialogue, MND, the official said government has been “holding onto its own end of the bargain.”




The town of Bamenda remains tense where the PM and his entourage are preparing to spend the night. As his visit to the city continues, some public sections of the town have been cleared by security forces, in anticipation of an expected meet-and-greet tomorrow. The move is believed to be for security reasons.



Housing and Urban Development Minister, Celestine Ketcha Courtes has revealed that 70% of Cameroonian metropolis are slumps. She has urged Mayors to be more involved in the planning and restructuring of their cities to boost development.




A pregnant woman has been killed by a falling tree in Mbanga, Littoral Region of Cameroon. Reports say the lady in question visited a stream to wash clothes, when she was crushed to death by a tree.




In the Far North Region, studies show that at least 15,000 people have been deprived of healthcare. Most of the health establishments in this region have been destroyed and burnt by Boko Haram terrorists, the study adds.



Cameroon’s Sports Minister, Narcisse Mouele Kombi has announced that 10,000 tickets have been made available for the country’s World Cup qualifying game against Mozambique. The game will be played at the Japoma Stadium in Douala, on Friday October 8, 2021.
