The coordinator of the Bamenda Disarmament Demobilisation and Reintegration center Kum Henry Echu has disclosed that over 30 former separatist fighters at the center have been provided employment opportunities by the government.
Henry Kum Echu also mentioned that 40 other fighters will soon be employed in government structures after receiving skills in domains like agriculture, computer science, and hairdressing.
The coordinator revealed that the center hosts about 200 ex-separatist fighters.
The Bamenda DDR center has been facing the challenge of limited infrastructure and Kum Henry has assured the public that the new site which can host about 1000 separatist fighters near the Bamenda airport is being equipped for subsequent use.
Recently, the administration of the North West region condoles with the DDR center after two ex-separatist fighters were killed in Bamenda.
