The new administrator of churches of the Cameroon Baptist Convention in the Bamenda area (field) has announced that his mandate as Field Pastor will be dominated by efforts to promote evangelism in the field.
Rev. Apongnde Richard after his induction service in Bamenda Sunday, October 17, also mentioned that he will work towards improving infrastructure in the church.
The Bamenda field of the CBC is the oldest and the seat of the Cameroon Baptist Convention with close to 70 churches in Nkwen, Awing, Santa, and Pinyin.
The rapidly growing Christian base has raised the problem of infrastructure, a situation Rev. Richard Apongnde says he will tackle.
“Over the years, it has dilapidated in its infrastructure. We think that within this mandate we should be able to give a new facelift to the Bamenda field that which is commensurate to the headquarters of the CBC”, he said.
He is also concerned about sustaining evangelism in the church.
The new field pastor will govern over 70 pastors and close to 12.000 Christians for a four-year mandate renewable once.
