Cameroon’s retired Indomitable Lioness and most recently appointed Team Manager of Cameroon’s Female National Football side has tendered her resignation from her position.
In the letter addressed to the President of Cameroon’s Football Federation, FECAFOOT President Seidou Mbombo Njoya, Enganamout says she is fed up with harassment from the latter.
She goes on in the letter to cite several incidents, one of which was at the Sawa Hotel in Douala, October 17, 2021. She told Seidou Mbombo Njoya “You approached me in the presence of Madame Celine Eko to tell me that you had been informed that I was meddling into the technical management of the team… I told you it was not true…and you warned me to be extremely careful with whom I dealt with.”
Enganamout also recounts another incident that took place in Garoua, October 23, 2021, at the Roumde Adja Stadium. “First of all you reproached me by asking what I was doing in Garoua when there was supposed to be a football match the very next day…then you never equally failed to remind me that my place was not here all the while yelling at me and threatening me of disciplinary sanctions…, ” she revealed.
She also said she was never allowed by the FECAFOOT president to explain herself, leaving her colleagues who had witnessed it shocked.
According to the letter, Enganamout had been invited into the entourage of the Minister of State, Secretary-General at the Presidency Ferdinand Ngoh Ngoh, who at the time was doing a tour of the sporting facility. She insisted that FECAFOOT President Seidou Mbombo Njoya wanted her to reject the call, and also miss the opportunity of interacting with her fellow football colleagues, whom she says she “drew inspiration from.”
She ended the letter by telling the FECAFOOT president that “I have served my country with dignity on and off the football pitch, and I will continue to do so wherever and whenever possible, but it will no longer be with you…”
