An honorable member of Parliament has said that individual members of parliament should incorporate sports and cultural activities, as a strategy to build sustainable peace in Cameroon, amidst growing insecurity.
Honorable Emobot Brigitte was speaking during an event yesterday November 22, 2021, marking the National Assembly’s commemoration of The Parliamentary Day for Peace, in Cameroon’s political capital, Yaounde.
During the event on the theme “Sports and Cultural Diversity contribution to attaining a lasting peace during the crisis period of The Covid-19 pandemic”, the President of The International Association of Parliamentarians for Peace for Cameroon, added that Cameroonian artists must channel their creative arts of music to develop and spread content that carries peace messages.
Meanwhile, the Vice President of Human Rights Commission in Cameroon, Dr. Raphael Galega noted that all Cameroonians have the fundamental rights to enjoy peace and security, however, regrets that the crisis in Cameroon, both in The Anglophone regions and The Far North has according to him, displaced more than 1000 Cameroonians from their homes.
