The Minister of Territorial Administration Paul Atanga Nji has chaired the bi-annual conference of Regional Governors in Yaoundé, where he has asked them to portray Cameroon in the best possible way as it prepares to host the African Cup of Nations tournament in 2022.

Cameroon will be the center of attention from January 9 to February 6, 2022, when the AFCON will be played.

To this, Minister Paul Atanga told the Governors: “We must fight against public disorder before, during, and after the competition.”

“We must keep our cities clean by fighting against urban disorder and by organizing the
motorbike sector,” he said.

The Minister also appealed that all Cameroonians must be Ambassadors of the nation “by being welcoming, polite, and behaving reasonably.”

With Cameroon still actively battling against the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Minister of Territorial Administration reminded the Governors that barriers measures must be respected during the AFCON.
