The Ministry of Public Health on December 22 received a donation from UNICEF Cameroon. The gifts are aimed at aiding in the fight against the transmission of HIV/AIDS from mother to child at Birth and Adolescents.
Amongst the equipment received were; 47 vehicles, 55 motorcycles, 40 Point of Care Equipment, Some Computers, and Hygiene protective materials among others.
The donation was financed by the Islamic Development Bank, and supported by UNICEF. it is a donation to support the Mother to Child and HIV Care Project to Eliminate Mother and Child Transmission, dubbed (PETVISIDAME).
The gift from UNICEF in addition also has a goal to ameliorate the health system of Cameroon and to also facilitate in the handling of other challenges faced by the Health Sector.
Cameroon’s Ministry of Health expressed its gratitude to UNICEF for the donation and assured that the equipment will go a long way in the fight against the spread of HIV in Cameroon.
