Government Bilingual High School Zhoa in Fungom Sub-Division, Menchum Division of the Northwest region of Cameroon has been forced to relocate.

In a service note signed by the Divisional Officer of Fungom, the school will now be accommodated by Government High School (GHS) Weh because of insecurity and threats to the staff.

The school head and teachers have been invited to accompany their students to the new site till when peace will return and their security ascertained for them to regain their main campus.

Worthy of note is the fact that some schools in the Northwest region are being accommodated by others in safer locations. For example, Presbyterian Secondary School, PSS, Bafut is operating in the campus of PSS Mankon.

Municipal councils too are suffering the same fate because of insecurity caused by the ongoing war rocking the two restive regions of the country.

For example, the Bamenda I Council in the Northwest region has decided to share its infrastructure with the Bafut Council.

The Bamenda II municipal council is begging the Mezam Divisional Delegation of Agriculture at Old Town to allow them to continue using part of their buildings.

Their main structure is located at Mbingfibie, a hotspot in the armed conflict.

All these mayors have gone down on record for shying away from talking about a mediated dialogue to end the war that has caused them to be operating far away from their people.
