The Senior Divisional Officer for Mezam has again restricted the circulation of commercial motorbikes in the Bamenda III sub division. Simon Emile Mooh’s decision today stated that the ban would hold for 14 days renewable and defaulters severely punished.
At least five workers of the Cameroon Development Corporation (CDC) remain unaccounted for. They were abducted today by armed men believed to be separatist fighters as they worked on the field. Their abductors also set ablaze some machinery used for work on CDC plantations.
The grandmother to three kids who were crushed by a falling tree in Kribi days ago has been arrested and detained. The lady in question had lost her three kids after a tree fell on their house, crushing them. The huge tree is said to have been set on fire and had been burning for days before the unfortunate incident.
A man nearly lost his life today in Limbe as he was beaten by an angry crowd. The man in question was said to have been caught attempting to rape a five year old. He was found with the kid in the later hours of the day near a school in the Motowoh neighborhood.
Governor Awah Fonkam Augustine of the West region has called on establishments in the town of Bafousam to shut their doors early on Friday to ensure a huge turnout at the Kuekong stadium during AFCON games. This comes after the Mayor of the town of Bafousam announced the availability of free transportation for those willing to go watch games at the stadium.
