A security official has died in hospital after he was shot today in Muyuka, South West Region. He was leading a convoy guarding Source du Pays trucks when they were attacked. Their assailants are believed to have been separatist fighters.


Cameroonian Bishops meeting in Ngaoundere in the Adamawa region have decried the poor living standards in the country. The misery of Cameroonians, they added, has been worsened by armed conflicts in the North West, South West and Far North Regions.


Video footage has emerged on social media of a Cameroonian soldier threatening a man in his house in Limbe, because of a land dispute. Relatives of the threatened man say the soldier had encroached into the other man’s land and got angry when reproached him for his action.


At least 10 shepherds have been kidnapped by gunmen in Oshie village, Momo Division, North West Region. The 10 sheep keepers were taken unawares as they went uphill to take care of their livestock. A ransom has been demanded to secure their release.


Workers of the Buea Council have been compelled to attend AFCON football games at the Limbe Omnisport Stadium. Workers who fail to do so have been threatened with sanctions. This move has been adopted to boost fan turnout at the ongoing AFCON.


The Confederation of African Football executive committee meeting has been held today to determine whether to relocate games from the Japoma Stadium in Douala. This was prompted by several complaints from participating teams due to the horrible conditions of the pitch.
