Some of the teachers who have been on strike for five weeks and still counting have said, government is finally delivering on its promise to address their concerns.
Those who spoke to MMI say for the first time, they have received their full salaries as well as advancements.
“We are now on full salary, no longer 2/3 of it,” one of them told MMI.
Like many others, he said, he is now awaiting arrears as promised.
“Congratulations to OTS…” he remarked.
The OTS pressure group it should be recalled, urged government to review the teaching sector and the treatment accorded teachers.
Some of its other demands include the automation of the advancement process and the pay of some allowances owed teachers.
The striking teachers however maintain that they will prefer to stay away from class until most or all their demands are met.
