Cameroon has signed an agreement with a company known as Impact Pamares to ease the production of biometric visas and consular cards.
The agreement was signed Friday April 1. This was during a ceremony at the Ministry of External Relations, MINREX in Yaounde.
According to the Inspector General of Consular Services in the Ministry of External Relations, Stanislas Oyono,” Cameroonian diplomacy is trying to innovate by introducing in the consular services, these biometric visas and these consular cards”.
Cameroon through the agreement aspires to issue important documents that are counterfeit-proof. This includes; visa vignettes, consular cards, emergency travel documents (laissez-passer), authorisations to repatriate corpses and many others, as from June 2022.
The terms of the agreement however stated that the Impact Pamarès society, will be responsible for the provision of equipment for the production of these documents. It will also train personnel and ensure the creation of a data center which will process every information.
