An Improvised Explosive Device (IED) has gone off in Nanga Junction, Bamenda, restive North West Region, leaving locals in panic.
The incident took place on Sunday July 3, 2022.
Sources around the area say Separatists who reportedly planted the explosive device were targeting a military van.
“The military van they were targeting took off on high speed after it missed being hit by the device. It was by the Grace of God that no civilian was hurt, though it happened when the road was busy with bikes and vehicles transporting persons,” an inhabitant from Travelers, a neighborhood, a short distance from the scene told MMI.
MMI also gathered that no one was hurt — but a vehicle belonging to a civilian fell in to a ditch that was created by the explosive device.
