The writing of General Certificate of Education, GCE at Government Technical High school, GTHS, Canada-Bamenda was disrupted, MMI has learnt.

The incident which occurred on Friday July 8,2022 left students dazed and confused.

According to reports, gunshots engulfed the school premises when students were writing Applied Mechanics Paper 3, forcing them to flee.

“GCE Exams here at GTHS Bamenda in gunshots. Frightened students had to rush home for fear of being attacked after soldiers started shooting” a student wrote to MMI, revealing that “Students rose against an invigilator who tore their scripts. As some started rioting, soldiers intervened with gunshots.”

Amateur footages obtained by MMI show students running out of the school campus amidst gunshots.

No official communication has been made on what transpired.
