A pupil by name Atchimou Simeu Joel of the class, 5ème is said to have slumped and died in school in Bagante, West Region of Cameroon.

According to reports, the pupil collapsed while on the field during a sports session in school. Though rushed to the hospital, the young boy succumbed to death some few minutes later.

“They left the house this morning for school and they had to do sport but he didn’t tell me. But he usually does sport. Around 9 in the morning, I received a call that the child has collapsed,” said Germaine, mother of the deceased.

According to Boris Jordan, elder brother of the deceased, he received the news of his brother’s collapse while in class.

He said: “I was in class when they came and called me that my little brother had collapsed on the field.”

No health-related issues were found in the pupil’s system. Meanwhile, the family of the young boy has remained inconsolable following his sudden demise.
