Two foreign nationals have been arrested for robbery at the ‘petit marché de Odza’ in Yaoundé, Center Region of Cameroon.
The arrest was carried out on September 24 at about 4 a.m after the forces of law and order were alerted of a motorbike robbery by four persons.
Once informed of the robbery, they embarked on a manhunt in the vicinity which led to the apprehension of two, out of the four robbers.
“The raid made it possible to arrest 2 of the 4 individuals, including the gang leader. He had a pistol in his possession with a 7-round magazine of 9 mm caliber,” disclosed the National Gendarmerie.
After interrogations, it was discovered that the two apprehended robbers were foreign nationals, residing in the country.
Investigations are however ongoing to get hold of their accomplices who are still on the run.
