Today marks exactly two years, since the Dschang cliff calcination incident which occurred on January 27, 2021, in the West Region of Cameroon.
The incident which claimed the lives of at least 58 persons including 11 children resulted from a collision between a bus transporting passengers and a truck transporting fuel.
Besides ceremonies that were organised to pay homage to the deceased victims of the tragic incident, the government promised to ensure the state of the road is looked into. It also pledged compensation to the victims.
But none of the above promises have ever been fulfilled as more lives continue to perish on the same stretch of road.
