A 16-year-old student whose only name MMI got as Peregreen died mysteriously during a pool party with friends at Bonapriso, Douala, on Wednesday, March 22.
Sources say the student of Bonadoumbé Bilingual Technical High School in Bonapriso left school with his friends on Wednesday afternoon and headed to a party pool not far from campus.
Hours later, it was reported that he had died, but no signs of drowning were detected.
“Saddened, his dad Henry Keneh revealed that he was called by one of his son’s friends after the death of the teenager,” a source told MMI.
“It is not known if it was through drowning or confrontation with his comrades that the young boy died. In any case, his friends deposited the body in the mortuary and left,” our source went on.
The police arrested officials of the pool popularly known as Colorado.
An investigation has been opened at the Regional Division of the Coastal Judicial Police, where the boy’s father will also be questioned.
