Several women, nursing mothers and young girls in Buea who were affected by last month’s flash floods have been aided by the United Nations International Children’s Fund, UNICEF.
The aid that was handed to them at the Buea Town Stadium this afternoon mainly consisted of sanitation kits.

It is taking place on the sidelines of another donation by the World Food Program, WFP, which is offering the victims food items including rice, oil, salt, and beans.
The items are coming 17 days after the devastating floods, which killed two people, injured several others and destroyed dozens of houses.

Aid in the form of food and sleeping materials has been pouring in from many actors, including the government, the Buea Municipal Council, traditional rulers and influential people.
However, little effort is being made to help whose homes and property were destroyed.
