The First Vice National Chairman of the Social Democratic Front (SDF) party, Joshua Osih Nambangi, has been crowned Chief of Madie Ngolo village in Toko Subdivision, Ndian Division of the South West Region of Cameroon.
The new Third Class Chief of Ngolo was officially presented to the public on Thursday, April 27, in Mundemba, the headquarters of the Ndian Division.
Reports say Osih, who is also a Member of Parliament for the SDF, was supposed to have been crowned in 2021, but the ceremony was delayed due to insecurity.
Other reports have also stated that his late father, who was the designated Chief of Toko, had refused to sit on the throne because of his religious beliefs – he could not serve as a Pastor and as a Chief.
This prompted the notables and kingmakers of Toko to then designate Osih as heir to the throne, a decision that only materialised recently.
Joshua Osih, who is also a business magnate in Douala, will now be functioning in three other capacities – as a traditional ruler, a Parliamentarian, and a party leader.
He is yet to make any statement about his enthronement.
