The Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT) has been ordered to pay over one billion FCFA (1.6 million euros) to the former Indomitable Lion’s coach, António Conceição da Silva Oliveira.
The decision of the Court of Arbitration for Sport confirms that which was rendered in July 2022 by the International Federation of Football Association (FIFA).
At the end of the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) which took place last January in Cameroon, Samuel Eto’o, the president of FECAFOOT decided to terminate the contract of Antonio Conceicao, the then-coach of the Indomitable Lions.
Eto’o criticized Conceico for not having won the AFCON per the terms of the contract.
The Court of Arbitration in this light has ordered that the federation must pay 1.6 million euros or just over a billion FCFA to the Portuguese coach.
