The BIR base was inaugurated on May 30, 2023, in Hina, considered one of the most affected localities by the horrors of Boko Haram terrorist activities.
“The base consists of a dormitory, offices, toilets, a kitchen, a water tower with fitted spaces that can have other premises if ever the need arises,” stated a source.
The inauguration ceremony was chaired by the Divisional Officer of Hina, Pierre Christian Ateba in the presence of Lieutenant-Colonel Béa Hob Dieudonné commander of the 1st BIR base in Maroua, representative of Colonel Péléné François, general coordinator of the BIR.
As is customary for the BIR in its various actions in the field, there was also the delivery of foodstuffs to the needy.
The establishment of the base according to the inhabitants of the said locality will help in reducing the rate of attacks perpetrated by Boko Haram elements.
