Some students, believed to be Baccalauréat candidates of Government Bilingual High School Ayos in the Centre region are reported to have set their school ablaze to ‘jeopardise’ the examination process.
The suspected students according to eyewitness accounts, carried out the act on the evening of Friday, June 3, at about 10 pm.
“They arrived the school in the night and used kerosene to set the building ablaze before taking to their heels,” revealed one of the eyewitnesses of the incident.
The affected area according to our source includes the guidance counselor’s office. In this office were important documents such as all the 2022-2023 annual reports of the students, the birth certificates and other documents of the Baccalaureate students.
The exact students who carried out the act are however yet to be identified.
The school authorities and law enforcement officials have not yet commented on the incident.
