The current executive of the Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT) and it’s obsession to transform the country’s football into a professional entity may come at a cost for many with the recent set of rules issued out.
In addition to the normal sporting qualification criteria, the Cameroon Football Federation has equally issued out a set of 11 strict rules which must be fulfilled by all elite one and two clubs.
To qualify as a member club of the Cameroon first division from the next footballing season, FECAFOOT imposes that the clubs must:
- Have a fully equipped and approved training facility.
- A program for medical follow-up for the players
- Must have a women’s team
- Should employ a physiotherapist
- Have an approved training program for young players
- Must have a team press officer
- Must have a bank account with a Category 1 bank
- Must have an office with an official address
- Must have an official administrative secretary
- Must be able to pay players salaries exclusively through the bank accounts
- Must register all staff at the National Social Insurance Fund. (CNPS)
The document issued out by the Federation specified all clubs in the First and Second divisions must fulfill the above conditions else would be relegated to lower divisions.
