Renowned Cameroonian bikutsi artist, Lady Ponce has demanded justice following the ‘mysterious’ death of web comedian Samy Lenwr.
Lenwr died on July 6, 2023, after a road accident on the Kribi Highway in the South Region of Cameroon. Family sources say he fractured his arm.
Lady Ponce has decided to speak out due to the controversies surrounding Samy’s passing and the way he was neglected before and after his death.
“Our parents, brothers, and ourselves suffered fractures of our feet and arms more serious than Samy’s case, No one removed the bone somewhere to replace on the affected spot,” she said on her official Facebook account.
She continued by questioning the professionalism of the hospital who handled Lenwr’s case.
“We have always operated or even better, we were sometimes taken to seek traditional remedies. So I don’t understand why you removed the bone to replace it elsewhere. How many types of such operations has this hospital been successful in carrying out before? Does this hospital have adequate equipment and staff for this type of operation?”
Her stance on this has raised the admiration of many who have taken it to social media to join voices with her to demand justice over the young man’s death.
“We want answers,” said one fan. “We want to know why Samy died. We want to know if his death could have been prevented.”
It is not yet clear what killed Lenwr because rumors on social media have it that one of his kidneys was found missing.
No official statement has been made by the authorities and it is not clear if an investigation into the death is ongoing.
