Awah Hananela Bih, the 10-year-old girl in Mankon who wrote a note to her parents and left home has been found and is now reunited with her parents.
The girl was found thanks to numerous posts on the Mimi Mefo Infos platform, hours after her disappearance. We spoke to the pastor to whom the girl’s mother ran to when the girl left the note. The pastor told us “Awah went right to Mile 4, and was found by someone who had seen the post of her disappearance on Facebook.”
The girl was taken to the Mile 4 Police station in Mile 4 on July 15 at about 10pm, from where her mum retrieved her. Unlike it was speculated before that her action may have been influenced by an external force, the pastor clarified the girl had done so out of her own will.
“I asked the girl why she had done such a thing and she gave me a flimsy excuse… She said did that because of a dance program in church which her father refused her from taking part in.” The pastor told MMI.
“Truly, no one was behind her action, because a neighbor admitted to us that she had seen the litter girl leave the house with the shopping bag, and after questioning to know, she told the neighbor she and her mum were going for holidays at Ngomgham.” He added.
Nevertheless, the pastor told us that neither he nor the parents have sat down to interrogate little Awah Hananela to know where she was heading to after writing her letter.
10-year-old Awah Hananela had written a letter and handed it over to her siblings before leaving leaving the house yesterday morning. In the letter, she said she would be gone for 8 years and that she was in search of a successful life.
In the note, the little girl equally provided 2 phone numbers through which she said she could be contacted 4 years after her disappearance.
