A new education program, funded by a 2.8 billion FCFA grant from Feicom and UNICEF, will benefit 10,000 students and 100 teachers from 15 primary schools in Garoua-Boulaï, Ngoura, Bertoua I, Bertoua II, and Mandjou.

The programme, christened “Education & Technology For Every Child,” will provide the schools with computers, tablets, projectors, and other educational technology. It will also train teachers on how to use technology to improve their teaching.

The programme is expected to improve the quality of education in the participating schools and help close the digital divide.

“This programme is a major investment in the future of Cameroon’s children,” Feicom’s manager, Philippe Camille Akoa, said, adding, “We believe that by providing them with access to technology, we can help them reach their full potential.”

“We are grateful to Feicom for their generous support of this program,” said UNICEF Representative Nadine Perrault.

“This investment will help to ensure that all children in Cameroon have access to quality education, regardless of their background.” She added

The program, which is scheduled to begin in 2023, is part of FEICOM’s commitment to improving education in Cameroon. The schools that will benefit from the program are located in some of the most remote and underserved areas of the country, and it is expected to have a significant impact on the lives of the students and teachers who participate.
