Nkwain Valentine, the President of Victoria United Football Club, also known as Opopo, based in Limbe, has recently announced that there will be a requirement for social media users to pay for access to these platforms in the near future.
He revealed this information during a press briefing held today, Monday, October 16, 2023, at the headquarters of the club in Limbe, located in the South West Region of Cameroon.
“Just as the world is moving digitally, football is not indifferent. Thus, we are announcing that the nearest future viewers of our social media handles will need to subscribe to gain access,” said Opopo’s president in the course of the briefing.
The decision was one of several decisions made by the club, which will be implemented in the coming days.
He revealed that one of his decisions is to help the team achieve the same professional status as teams in Europe.
He informed the press, “Gradually, we shall reach there. In this respect, we shall be unveiling our new official kit sponsors of the team in the days ahead.”
Nkwain Valentine also mentioned their plans to establish a female team and a cadet team in the near future. These teams will be introduced to the public at a later date.
According to him, this follows the prescription set by the Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT).
It is worth noting that Victoria United is currently ranked 4th in Pool B, having earned 3 points with 1 win and 2 defeats.
