The Indomitable Lions of Cameroon will be facing Libya and Mauritius Island in two separate friendly games scheduled for November.
After locking horns with Mauritius on November 13, they will clash with Libya on November 20.
The games aim to prepare the team for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, which will take place in Abidjan in January and February 2024.
As part of preparations for the campaign, the Lions encountered Russia and Senegal in friendlies played on October 12 and October 16, respectively.
But both games were not promising for the Lions as they got beaten by 1-0 in both games.
Many fans have been raising concerns about the Indomitable Lions’ capability to compete for the 2023 AFCON trophy alongside African football giants like Senegal, Egypt, Nigeria, Ghana, Morocco, and Algeria.
The team barely qualified for the competition after suffering defeats from low-ranking Niger and Kenya at the qualifiers.
Their last performance against current AFCON title holder, Senegal, got fans worried.
“Senegal deserved the win without the penalty because they played so well. Cameroon, for the past matches, has just been managing,” commented Indomitable Lions fan, Jaison Brown on Facebook.
Others have been looking for whom to blame for the Lions’ mishaps, some pointing fingers at Coach Rigobert Song.
“Coach Rigobert Song is still struggling to find Cameroon’s perfect starting 11,” remarked Facebook user, Kali JB.
Since his appointment as head coach, the former Indomitable Lions defender’s balance sheet has not been quite remarkable.
In 16 matches, he has only managed to win four and lose seven, with five draws.
Under Song, the Indomitable Lions have scored 16 goals and conceded 18, with just three clean sheets.
Many are hoping that the five-time African Cup champions will have corrected their loopholes before the continental jamboree.
The Indomitable Lions are in Group C of the tournament, with other members including Senegal, Guinea, and Gambia.
