Renowned Nollywood actor Sylvester Madu, popularly known as Shina Rambo, has received a heartfelt reception in Cameroon as he arrives to film “Abakwa,” a movie addressing the critical issue of drug abuse. The acclaimed actor, celebrated for roles in films like “Karashika” and “Sakobi,” is set to play a pivotal role in this impactful production.

Sylvester’s early morning arrival in Cameroon was met with warmth from Cameroonian actor Alenne Menget, who, an hour later, extended a gracious invitation to his restaurant, Ni’s Kitchen. There, Sylvester savored authentic Cameroonian cuisine, setting the tone for a collaborative and culturally rich filmmaking experience.

“Abakwa” is a significant cinematic endeavour aimed at condemning drug consumption, presently in production with an energetic Cameroonian team. Franck Johanssen serves as the executive producer, and Me Dama Humphrey is the film’s producer and director.

Sylvester Madu’s visit is centred around shooting the film in Bamenda, sparking anticipation among fans who expect his signature brilliance in the lead role. While the movie’s release date remains undisclosed, Sylvester Madu, along with local youths in Bamenda, has initiated a campaign against drug consumption, underscoring their commitment to addressing this societal concern.

The collaboration between Nigerian and Cameroonian talents not only promises an engaging cinematic experience but also highlights the collective effort to shed light on the pervasive issue of drug abuse. Sylvester Madu’s presence in Cameroon adds a significant dimension to the production of “Abakwa,” amplifying the film’s potential impact.

Many other instances of collaboration between Cameroon and the Nigerian movie industries have produced some fantastic results, one of which is the Fisherman’s Diary, which featured legendary Nigerian actor, Ramsey Noah.
