A recently initiated petition, advocating for the apprehension of an alleged serial rapist identified as Hervé Bopda, has garnered significant traction, amassing over 5000 signatures.
In recent days, numerous testimonies have surfaced on social media, exposing the alleged predatory actions of Hervé Bopda, described as a wealthy individual with close ties to various Cameroonian government authorities.
According to these accounts, Hervé Bopda specializes in manipulating both men and women, enticing them to upscale restaurants and apartments, where he reportedly coerces them into engaging in unprotected sexual activities.
The accused, purportedly HIV positive, is alleged to operate with the support of a network of Cameroonian influencers and artists, some of whom have been identified by renowned whistleblower Nzui Manto.
Heart-wrenching testimonials have shed light on the harrowing experiences endured by many victims of the alleged serial rapist. One such account comes from Éliane, who claims to have lost her virginity and contracted HIV during a traumatic encounter with Bopda.
Éliane recounted her ordeal, stating, “There were drugs and firearm ammunition in a metal box in the living room on the table. He closed the central door and walked around the room with a gun. I didn’t have time to scream or talk to my friend; he caressed her chest and instructed us to undress. I was a virgin, my friend already knew men.”
“He pulled us into the bedroom, took a military whip, and whipped us on the head, instructing us to kiss each other. He then laid my girlfriend down in front of me. I began crying; he left my girlfriend and pointed the gun at me, warning that he wore a crown. If I didn’t obey and continued to shout, no one would come to our aid. He threatened to cut us up and feed us to dogs. That’s how he abused me without lubricant, without any protection, until he subjected us to sexual assault, given the enormous size of his genitals…”
Éliane, along with hundreds of other victims, both female and male, is appealing to the Cameroonian government to intervene and ensure justice is served.
Various Cameroonian personalities, including Member of Parliament Nourane Foster, have publicly condemned the alleged actions. Foster wrote on her official Facebook page, “I strongly condemn these shameful actions and call on the competent authorities to address this matter, urging the government to support the victims.”
All victims of the alleged serial rapist are urged to file formal complaints to aid barristers in gathering sufficient evidence against Hervé Bopda.
