The University of Buea (UB) recently celebrated a milestone with the launch of its first-ever Open Day. The much-anticipated event, held under the distinguished patronage of the Vice Chancellor, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Teaching, Professionalism and Development of ICTs), Registrar, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Internal Control and Evaluation), and the Acting Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research, Cooperation and Relations with the Business World), served as a valuable opportunity for high school students to explore the vast academic offerings of UB.
Part one of the inaugural ceremony saw esteemed members of the University’s administration preside over the proceedings. This official segment likely laid the groundwork for the exciting phase two, which promised an immersive experience for prospective students.
During this second phase, attendees were expected to embark on a journey of discovery through designated stands showcasing the various departments within UB. This interactive format would have allowed high school students to engage directly with faculty and staff, gaining valuable insights into the diverse academic programs available at the University.
The University of Buea Open Day presents a commendable initiative, fostering a platform for high school students to make informed decisions about their future academic pursuits. By showcasing its strengths and fostering direct interaction, UB paves the way for a new generation of eager learners to embark on their educational journeys within its esteemed walls.
