The Mayor of Waza, Ibrahim Mohamed, in Logone et Chari Division of the Far North Region, has promised that his municipality will massively vote for President Paul Biya in the upcoming 2025 election.
He pledged during the commissioning of a borehole constructed since 2018 by the Ministry of the Economy, Planning, and Regional Development.
The mayor considers the borehole in the locality of Waza a gift from President Paula Biya, and as such, it should be reciprocated with massive voting in the upcoming elections.
The borehole is said to have been financed to the tune of 1.250 billion FCFA.
It will supply water to 15 villages on the outskirts of Waza and some localities around the municipality.
After the commissioning, many are asking which project should cost over a billion.
However, the Ministry of Economy, Planning, and Regional Development has not properly justified such an expenditure.
The locality in Waza where water was constructed has witnessed clashes among villages, and the cause has always been the source of the portable water.
Meanwhile, a project being financed with the state budget has now become a campaign tool for Mayor Ibrahim Mohamed.
Present at the event were several political actors from the division.
