A missing girl who went missing sends a message to her family, but they are not convinced it’s her.
The MMI news team received a message from the family of a missing girl, expressing their worry about her safety.
Ekole Hedrine Ebondo, a 19-year-old, left the house almost one week ago, on Saturday, September 30, 2023, and as of now, nobody has found her.
Hedrine’s relatives received a message this Friday, October 6th, allegedly from her, which read, “Tell everyone that I am fine, and they shouldn’t worry about me.” I’m at a friend’s place, and I’ll go to school from here.” She did not mention anything else and has refused to respond to her relatives’ further messages.
Hedrine’s safety is now causing even more worry for her sister, who received the message. “The person replied when we tried contacting the number, telling us to stop texting. He/she is not Hedrine, and we are 100% sure of that,” said the sister. She added, “I believe she is in great danger because that is not her style of writing.”
Ekole Hedrine Ebondo, a university student, was last seen in Buea, in the South West Region of Cameroon.
She had not reached out to any family members until this Friday.
Cases of missing persons are soaring in Cameroon. A day cannot go by without a missing person alert being reported on MMI.
