Abdul Karim’s first message after release

Vibrant muslim scholar and southern Cameroonain activist Abdul Karim Ali has given thanks to Allah, few minutes after his release from the State Gendarmerie Secretariat, SED.

“Allahu Akbar…Dear Southern Cameroonians, God answered your prayers. Your servant is free. God bless you,” he wrote on his Facebook page.

A message from a relative confirming his release said Abdul Karim is now at home with his family.

Followers and wellwishers have been celebrating his release, describing him as son of the soil and true freedom fighter. “The one and only warrior whose only weapon is the truth. Welcome back comrade. Alluta continua,” one of them wrote.

Abdul Karim spent close to 40 days behind bars after his unjust arrest infront of the Swiss embassy in Yaounde on September 25, 2019.

Abdul Karim has remained one of the critical voices of Yaounde government’s poor management of the Anglophone crisis which has killed over 3.000 and left over 600.000 others displaced.
