Soppo Market accident results in multiple casualties
A devastating accident occurred this morning at the vibrant Soppo Market, near the OIC in Buea, in the South West region of Cameroon, and has resulted in many casualties, according to early reports. .
A young male driver was involved in the incident, travelling from Molyko towards the market area. Based on accounts from eyewitnesses, it was reported that the driver lost control and accidentally collided with a group of market women, who were mainly selling tomatoes. The cause of the accident is still being investigated.
“The young man on the steering was driving from Molyko towards OIC area, they can’t say what really happened before he drove into the market women,” said a shocked eyewitness.
Some local sources have confirmed the tragic loss of two persons, but this has yet to be independently verified and confirmed by any authority. Several individuals are confirmed to have sustained injuries in the crash and were transported to the hospital for medical attention. The number of injured individuals remains uncertain.
