Accident claims lives, leaves several injured in Likomba

A series of unfortunate events led to the loss of at least one life and left numerous individuals seriously injured in Likomba, a roadside town in Tiko Subdivision, South West, last night.

The accident occurred near the Camwater catchment center below Mutengene Hill, a few minutes after 12 a.m. last night.

An eyewitness recounted the tragic sequence of events, stating, “Two trucks got bad in front of the Camwater catchment center at Likomba. A bike rider rode under one of the trucks and died on the spot.”

The gravity of the situation escalated as bystanders and colleagues of the deceased gathered at the scene.

Tragically, the chaos attracted another unfortunate incident.

The eyewitness added, “Another car came and unfortunately crushed a number of them.”

As locals flocked to the scene, the aftermath was characterized by chaos and distress.

A number of the injured were transported to medical facilities for urgent treatment.

“Some have been carried to Bingo Mutengene. I carried 7 to the General Hospital in Tiko,” reported the eyewitness.

The severity of the injuries varied, with six of the injured bikers reported to be in critical condition, some with broken limbs.
