Ace journalist and publisher of The Star, Chief Kemayang Paul quits the stage.

Foanyi Nkemayang Paul, publisher of the renowned English weekly newspaper, The Star is no more.

The President of the Commonwealth Journalists Association in Cameroon died at a Down Beach Hospital in Limbe, South West Region on Thursday, June 18, 2020.

Journalist immediately rushed to the hospital when news of his sudden death was on announced. To many actors in the media landscape in Cameroon, his demise comes as a shock.

“This is really bad news for the press family. Go well Papa”. ” Rest in peace media guru your work will live on,” are some of the tributes pouring in from colleagues in the profession.

The last time Nkemayang Paul was seen with colleagues and in public was in Buea, when journalists marched to the South West Governor’s office to seek answers and the disappearance and death of Samuel Wazizi. “Little did we know that he was saying goodbye,” says another journalist.

Nkemayang Paul was holder of a chieftaincy title (he was conferred with the title of Osari Maribo of Besong-Abang Village in Manyu Division).
