2023 Africa Cup of Nations Draw Ceremony Set for October 12 in Abidjan.

Abidjan, the capital of Ivory Coast, will host the draw ceremony for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) on Thursday, October 12th. Representatives from the 24 teams that have made it into the tournament will gather at the Parc Des Expositions for the opening ceremony.

There will be six groups of four teams, for a total of 24 teams. Each group’s first and second-place finishers will move on to the next round. The dates for the tournament are January 13th–11th, 2024.

Senegal, as the tournament’s defending champions, is a strong contender. Top teams from countries like Morocco, Egypt, Algeria, and Nigeria will also be participating.

There will be live TV and streaming coverage of the drawing ceremony. As the teams are selected and the road to the championship begins, fans from all over the continent can tune in online.

Cameroon has not yet qualified for the 2018 AFCON. On September 12, 2023, they will play their last qualifying match against Burundi. In their first meeting with Namibia, they tied 1-1. The score of Namibia’s rematch victory was 2-1. Cameroon and Mexico played to a 2-2 tie in their match. All of Africa is rooting for the mighty Lions to make it to this year’s AFCON.

A significant athletic event for Africa, the 2023 AFCON is anticipated to be a big success. The competition will serve as a platform for the top footballers on the continent and provide the Ivory Coast, the tournament’s host nation, an opportunity to display its talents.

Cameroon still needs to qualify for this year’s AFCON. They will play their last qualification match with Burundi on September 12, 2023. They drew 1-1 with Namibia in their first encounter. Namibia won 2-1 in the return match. Cameroon also had a draw with Mexico during their encounter, 2-2. Hands are crossed for the indomitable Lions to qualify for this year’s AFCON.
