The Confederation of African Football, CAF has issued a statement condemning the violent attacks on three Algerian Journalists yesterday in Douala.
The statement from CAF says the Journalists were threatened with knives and robbed off some of their property by unidentified individuals.
To this, CAF says it “condemns such acts of indignation…” It has also “Called on the authorities of Cameroon to shine more light on the incident.”
CAF has demanded an investigation process to be initiated as soon as possible, all the while appealing to Cameroonians to stare clear of all acts of provocations and violence.
The authorities have also been called to improve security as the competition progresses, to avoid similar occurrences in the future.
